This morning, the Victorian government launched the first part of a construction project package, which will provide $ 2.7 billion for prepared projects (both large and small) to return thousands of people to work.
As we face the greatest economic challenges of generations, and as industry and commerce find new ways to adapt and innovate, the Victorian Government is doing its utmost to promote new economic activities and create thousands of new jobs across states.
Last month, the Australian government announced a $ 1.7 billion economic survival plan to help companies weather the most severe coronavirus crisis-providing tax rebates, corporate subsidies and opportunities for workers to return to work. Today, the government launched the first part of a construction project package, which will provide $ 2.7 billion to support shovel projects (both large and small) to return thousands of people to work.

The plan will create 3,700 direct jobs for construction workers, painters, plasterers, gardeners, engineers, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, maintenance workers, and administrative personnel. Thousands of jobs will be created throughout our supply chain, including manufacturing, logistics, transportation, warehousing, and retail-and will also inject additional dollars into our economy.
