New Zealand Prime Minister Adeen visited Melbourne this week to deliver a speech on the good government. Ms. Aden will deliver a speech to the Melbourne City Council on Thursday night “Why is a good government so important?” She was invited by the Melbourne City Hall and the Australian and New Zealand School of Government. Melbourne Mayor Sally Capp said she is looking forward to hearing from one of the world’s “most respected and inspiring” leaders. She said in a statement on Monday: “Prime Aden is praised by the international community for his reaction to the terrorist attacks in Christchurch and his leadership in compassion and empathy.”

Ms. Aden became Prime Minister of New Zealand in 2017 and showed her approval of the world after she showed her compassionate leadership after the Christchurch shooting in March. The shooting resulted in 51 deaths and dozens of injuries. Her government’s latest “well-being budget” measures people’s happiness and economic figures, and allocates billions of dollars to cope with suicide rates, child poverty, homelessness and domestic violence. Ken Smith, CEO of the Australian and New Zealand Government College, said: “Ms. Aden is leading an innovative government. She has just announced a major restructuring of public services and has made significant long-term investments in the happiness of the country’s citizens. Her speech will address many of the problems that modern governments have to deal with. These governments are in an increasingly uncertain environment and people are increasingly distrusting the government, but the government is also trying to provide valuable public services to citizens. She will let us know how New Zealand is changing the role of government.”
