Coles CEO Steven Cain has launched a restructuring of the headquarters, which will result in 450 jobs being cut and two senior executives will leave.
On Thursday morning, Coles employees at the headquarters of Toorongga in Melbourne’s East Side were told that 450 jobs would be laid off.
Coles will not fill vacant positions, so the number of unemployed employees will be less than 450.
A Coles spokesperson confirmed the news but declined to comment further.
This reorganization will also lead to the departure of two senior executives.
Alister Jordan, head of Coles Express, online store and public affairs, will leave before the end of the year.
Coles’ store operations director Paul Bradshaw will also leave the company.
