The Australian travel ban has been quietly extended for three months to September 17, but if during this period certain countries are considered safe, they will be exempted in advance.

Australia’s ban on international flights was originally scheduled to last from March 18 to June 17 for three months, but on May 15 it was quietly extended for another three months. This means that Australians will not be able to travel abroad until September 17, although a spokesperson for the Ministry of Health said it would not prevent the proposed “bubble” of travel with New Zealand or other countries that control new coronary pneumonia. The spokesperson said: “The Human Biosecurity Emergency is currently in effect until September 17, 2020-it was extended for three months on May 15, 2020 to ensure that the Australian government continues to have the proper scope of authority to manage An ongoing pandemic response.”

“Restrictions on outbound travel for Australian citizens and permanent residents are currently in effect during a state of emergency.”
