The developer has proposed a plan for a retirement community that will cost 160 million Australian dollars. The proposed project is located in the historic Beechley Manor on the Mornington Peninsula.
As part of the proposal, the developer will preserve and restore the existing heritage-protected buildings on the site. The developer also hired heritage expert Lovell Chen to advise on the heritage project, while VIA architects and landscape architect Tract have already designed the new building on site. The new development is called Beachleigh and will also include a fitness center, gym, library, cinema, restaurant, bar and lounge, indoor heated swimming pool, spa and concierge services.
As part of the proposal, the 200m waterfront area will be regenerated and integrated into the community for public activation, while the historic church building will be converted into a public cafe and restaurant.
